What do you enjoy about the Handmade Fair, and what made you want to return this year?

I love the focus of The Handmade Fair on both appreciating the beauty of handmade and the huge array of skills it offers to teach attendees – from making something beautiful themselves from scratch or upcycling a piece they already own.

I came away with some great ideas myself last year and can’t wait to take part again this year!

What can audiences expect from your Wellbeing Wisdom talk at Bowood Handmade Fair?

My wellbeing wisdom talk will include advice for entrepreneurs on how to grow their business and lots of ideas on how to look good and feel great throughout the summer.

I’ll also be sharing some simple tips and recipes from some of my latest books including the Liz Earle Wellbeing Yearbook Volume 2, The Good Gut Guide and The Good Menopause Guide.

What business advice can you offer for budding entrepreneurs?

One of my motto’s is ‘if it has to be now, it has to be no’. I like to be able to at least sleep on a business decision and make sure I still feel the same way about something the following day.

Can you tell us more about your latest venture, Liz Earle Wellbeing?

Liz Earle Wellbeing is a high-quality print and digital magazine (published by Hearst) focused on food and living well. It’s based on over 30 years of my award-winning advice, experience and research and is packed with tried and trusted recipes and inspirational ideas and ways to bring out the very best in you. We also feature homes, gardens and crafts too.

Alongside Liz Earle Wellbeing, I’ve recently launched the Wellness with Liz Earle podcast. I was so thrilled when downloads recently hit 100,000. Recent guests have included the hilarious Kathy Lette, menopause expert Dr Louise Newson and the gardener, cook, TV presenter and writer Sarah Raven.

What does healthy eating mean to you?

Healthy eating is for me is all about balance. That’s why on the Liz Earle Wellbeing website you’ll find everything from skin-saving salads to tempting teatime treats, all using delicious, nutritious ingredients to help you glow from within.

I always try to embrace seasonal, local, organic produce where possible as the mainstay of my meals. I don’t eat many things that come out of a packet, always aim for lots of fresh veg and tend to avoid anything my grandmother wouldn’t recognise!

How do you encourage your children to embrace and enjoy a healthy lifestyle?

My children have always enjoyed seasonal and healthy foods and lots of fresh country air which is a great starting point for any healthy lifestyle. Whenever possible we eat together as a family – although my two oldest now live and work in London – and so they learn and embrace by example.

What advice would you give to someone hoping to improve their health and wellbeing?

Good gut health has the power to totally transform the way we look and feel and by making a step in the right direction, through a daily dose of probiotics, you can make a real difference to your overall health and wellbeing.

Start by making one small change to your diet and adding in some probiotics in the form of plain live yoghurt or fermented foods such as kimchi.

And finally, what’s your top tip for feeling and looking your best?

I start my day with a glass of kefir, a live super-yoghurt drink packed with powerfully beneficial probiotics, and I find this gives me a real boost in the morning and has made a big difference to my overall health and wellbeing.
