Entrepreneurial spirit is flourishing in Gloucestershire it seems, despite the pandemic, and those behind a £1 million of funding to aid business growth want it known its well has not run dry.

Since applications opened for a share of the Scale Up 4 Growth cash back in March ‘hundreds of businesses have registered their interest in the scheme’ – and the door remains open, but only until Wednesday, May 5.

‘‘There is still time to apply for Scale Up 4 Growth, but you need to act now. Chances to receive grants of up to £40,000 do not come around every day so we would love to see your business take advantage of the brilliant Scale Up 4 Growth scheme,’ said Andy Bates, vice principal and chief financial officer at Gloucestershire College.

Scale Up 4 Growth (S4G) is a business support programme delivered in partnership between the college, UWE Bristol and NatWest and funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

‘This is your opportunity to kick-start your business or to take it to the next level. The funding covers a huge range of growth projects so it’s definitely worth getting in touch if you are scaling up your organisation in any shape or form.’

Businesses from Tewkesbury and Cheltenham have sent in 20 per cent of the applications each so far, closely followed by Gloucester and the Forest of Dean both with 16 per cent, Stroud with 15 per cent and the Cotswolds with 10 per cent.
