Newland Homes has been named Housebuilder of the Year at an awards ceremony and also scooped first prize at the Gloucester Dragon Boat Festival 2023.

Newland Homes, based in Barnwood, Gloucester, has picked up the top accolade at the South West Residential Property Awards 2023, scooping the prestigious title Housebuilder of the Year.

The awards seek to recognise the work of the very best of the region's housebuilders, developers, architects and property industry professionals at a glittering annual awards ceremony.

The panel of judges praised the housebuilder for its 'strong sustainability credentials, good values and diversity of projects', describing it as 'trailblazing' for its work creating a development of zero-carbon homes powered by renewable technologies such as solar panels and air source heat pumps.

Newland Homes was the first UK housebuilder that uses traditional construction methods to sign the United Nation's Climate Neutral Now pledge and is set to achieve at least a 50 per cent reduction in its carbon footprint by the end of 2024.

The company, which employs 77 staff, has a turnover of £80 million-plus and built 200 homes in 2022, has also ditched diesel, converting all of its construction vehicles to run off plant-based alternative, hydrotreated vegetable oil.
