Gloucestershire's top-performing women's rugby team, Gloucester-Hartpury, has a new chief executive officer, as Rebecca Dennis becomes its new CEO this March 2026.

Rebecca joins the club from The Football Association, where she has been the head of strategy and business management for women's football since 2017.

During her time at The FA, she has played a pivotal role in shaping and driving forward the strategic vision for the women's game, bringing it from the margins to the mainstream.

Her career history also includes roles at St. James's Place and Goldman Sachs Assets Management.

As well as a longstanding commitment to women's sport, Rebecca also brings a deep understanding of Gloucester-Hartpury to the role, having been a non-executive director of the club for the last two years.

Rebecca said: 'It is a real honour to be appointed chief executive officer of Gloucester Hartpury. I would like to thank the board for placing their trust in me and everyone connected with the club for their continued support.

'Gloucester Hartpury has established itself as one of the best women’s rugby teams in the world and as three-time Premiership Women’s Rugby champions, the standards and ambition here are incredibly high.

'I am excited to work with our players, staff, partners and supporters to build on that success, continue driving excellence on and off the field and ensure the club remains at the forefront of the women’s game for years to come.'

Rebecca's appointment was ratified at a board meeting in February 2026.

Gloucester Rugby CEO, Alex Brown, said: 'We are delighted Rebecca has taken on the role as CEO at Gloucester Hartpury. Having served as a non-executive board member, she already has a strong understanding of the organisation, its ambitions and its values.

'Rebecca brings a deep passion for sport, a proven track record of strategic delivery and a strong belief in the power of sport to create positive impact on and off the field. We are excited about the leadership she will provide as the club continues to build on its success.'

Professor Andy Collop, CEO, vice-chancellor and executive principal of Hartpury, added: 'Rebecca’s appointment as chief executive officer is a hugely positive step for the club.

'The partnership between Hartpury and Gloucester Rugby has created something very special and Rebecca’s experience at the highest levels of sport governance and business strategy, combined with her passion for developing opportunities for women and girls in sport, makes her exceptionally well placed to lead Gloucester Hartpury into its next chapter.

'We are delighted to see her take on this role and look forward to working together.'
