After doing the sums on its efforts in 2021, the corporate finance team at Gloucestershire accountants, Hazlewoods, has cause to celebrate after discovering it had made more than £1 billion of deals possible in the last year.

The award-winning firm, which employs more than 400 staff and was named the sixth most active adviser in the UK by Experian, helped complete 170 deals with a combined value of £1.074 billion.

That amounted to 28 per cent more than 2020, with transaction values also up by 41 per cent.

Paul Fussell, corporate finance partner at the Staverton-headquartered firm, said: ‘This is the best set of results we have ever achieved in the company’s 100-year history.

‘We are delighted to have guided so many clients through the exciting process of buying or selling a business.’

Hazlewoods’ corporate finance team provides specialist advice to small and mid-market businesses on transactions including business acquisitions and disposals, due diligence, business valuations and raising finance for expansion.

That team has grown to five partners and more than 40 professionals, with further expansion expected for 2022.
