Redcliffe Homes, an award-winning independent house builder based in South Gloucestershire, has appointed Jon Burcombe to become its first chief operating officer in a move towards 'ambitious expansion plans'.
The strategic change in company structure is also part of the company's objective to 'fuel the growth needed to meet market demand for high-quality new homes.'
This is proven in research by Marrons, a Bristol-based group of socio-economic experts, which revealed that the south west needs to build around 600,000 new homes in the next 15 years to meet the needs of the region's predicted 2040 population — thus leading to Redcliffe's Homes' new leadership team restructuring.
Chief executive of Redcliffe Homes, Tom O'Connor, said: 'Jon Burcombe's wide experience of house building, commercial acumen and the high regard and respect he holds made him the obvious choice for this role.
'I have no doubt he will bring an energy and focus to the position propelling the business towards its next phase of growth.'
Jon added: 'I am honoured to take on this new role at such an exciting time for Redcliffe Homes. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional homes and creating vibrant communities.
'I look forward to leading our operations and ensuring we achieve our ambitious growth targets.'
The leadership shake-up will also allow Tom, as its CEO, to put more focus on land and planning matters, which Redcliffe says are 'becoming increasingly complex and resource intensive.'
With developments throughout Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire, the house builder has several new projects in progress, demonstrating its commitment to continuing its growth trajectory, promoting sustainable building and meeting the housing needs of the south west region.
