The Scandinavian Coffee Pod has been a firm favourite in Cheltenham since its arrival in September 2014.

Now the popular pod, based at The Studios on Royal Well Place, is opening a second venue at Gloucester Food Dock on Friday 19 January 2024.

The Cheltenham Pod offers ethically-sourced coffee, espresso and V60 filter options, alongside locally-sourced cakes and pastries, with gluten-free and vegan options.

When it opens in Gloucester, coffee fans will be able enjoy freshly roasted, seasonal blends surrounded by Scandi design details.

In an Instagram post, giving a hint of its minimalistic interior, The Scandinavian Coffee Pod announced: 'See you in five days Gloucester!'

The new Gloucester Food Dock base follows a similar design to the Cheltenham HQ, with a strong ethos of keeping things simple, clean and free from visual clutter in order to keep the focus on the star of the show — the coffee.

The Scandinavian Coffee Pod owner, Sophie Adkins, said: 'Everything we do is built upon the Scandinavian principle of doing simple, well.'

It'll join the Food Dock's latest openings, Hetty’s PlaceBella Mia Pizza @ No.1 and Green Door @ No. 1 and Our House by Sibling Distillery, which opened at the end of 2023, following on from the launch of the Wholly Gelato ice cream parlour on Saturday 4 November 2023.

General manager of the Food Dock, Kyla Hyett, said: 'The coffee bar looks amazing. We are excited for everyone to see yet another completely different interior and design of the spaces on offer at the Food Dock.'

Three more businesses are opening this year including Elote tacos, Strip Steak Bar and Chuck burgers.
