Beware, it is such an effective video it is likely make you think you should step up and offer yourself for the role the directors of Gloucestershire’s local enterprise partnership are promoting.

We are talking about the role of chairperson at the GFirst LEP, a position about to be vacated in August by Dr Diane Savory OBE, after she serves her maximum third term of office.

As enticing as the LEP board members in the video make the role sound, under her chairmanship the LEP has won more than £100 million for Gloucestershire, been the catalyst for significant transformational projects and led on the development of the county’s economic strategy.

David Owen, for the last decade the chief executive of GFirst LEP, said: ‘We are looking for someone who can pick of the baton and lead the organisation through the next period of growth.’

Which means, bearing in mind the predecessor, the calibre of candidate they are seeking needs to be the very, very best.
