A new hair and beauty training salon named after Gloucester hairdresser, Hollie Gazzard, is opening, helping young people gain vocational qualifications and valuable life skills at the same time.
Her namesake charity, the Hollie Gazzard Trust, is collaborating with Gloucestershire-based alternative education provider, Bridge Training Ltd, to create a space that combines 'vocational excellence with a shared commitment to safeguarding and opportunity for young people'.
The new training salon was revealed for the first time on Friday 3 July 2026 to coincide with the charity's annual event, Purple Hollie Day.
The opening comes 12 years after Hollie's life was ended by her abusive ex partner, at the Gloucester hair salon where she was working.
Providing a lasting legacy in the profession she loved, Hollie's at Bridge Training Ltd, located on Westgate Street, is a fully-equipped, 12-seat salon which will operate as both a classroom and professional working environment for young people working to gain qualifications in both hairdressing and beauty therapy.
Alongside vocational training, the initiative also provides training on healthy relationships, spotting the signs of abusive behaviour, and dealing with domestic abuse, to not only empower learners with knowledge of how to protect themselves, but also how to appropriately respond to disclosures from clients – with the salon aiming to create a 'culture of care and awareness within the profession', while supporting young people to build safer futures for themselves.
In a joint statement, Hollie's parents, Nick and Mandy, and sister Chloe, said: 'Hollie was so passionate about hairdressing and beauty. She always dreamed of having her own salon. Nothing will ever take away the pain of losing her, but Hollie’s at Bridge is an incredible legacy.
'We are so proud that she will continue to inspire and protect young people across our county — helping them follow their dreams while understanding how to keep themselves safe.'
Bridge Training founders, Nikki and Mark Harrod, added: 'We are honoured to be working alongside the Hollie Gazzard Trust on this powerful and meaningful project.
'Hollie’s at Bridge Training Ltd will give young people not only industry-level training and qualifications, but confidence, purpose and opportunity.
'This partnership blends skills development with vital life education — creating a space where young people can thrive both professionally and personally.'
Hollie's at Bridge officially opens in September 2026, when the public will be able to book appointments to support Gloucester's next generation of hair and beauty professionals.
