After having its best-selling pantomime ever in 2025, The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury is promising that its 2026 pantomime will have 'more chaos and fun than ever before'.
Set on the eve of the Battle of The Roses in 1471, this brand-new production of Sleeping Beauty is 'the same fairytale you know – considerably less well-behaved!' And audiences can expect to see plenty of familiar places – and faces – celebrating everything that makes Tewkesbury magical.
This year's panto features a brand-new cast and creative team, which includes a chorus of talented local school children, with the show written by multi-award-winning writer Toby Hulse, directed by Olivier Award-winner Derek Bond, with a bespoke set and costumes by acclaimed designer Jessica Curtis – and the theatre gave SoGlos a sneak peek at its stars.
Inclusivity is at the heart of everything The Roses Theatre does, so there are a number of accessible performances during the run, with BSL-interpretation and sensory-friendly shows ideal for audience members with SEND needs and people with dementia.
The Roses Theatre's raucous adults-only pantomime is also back for 2026, too, with strictly over 18s performances taking place on selected dates – but be warned, they're not for the faint-hearted!
Sleeping Beauty hits the stage at The Roses Theatre on Saturday 28 November 2026 – oh yes it does! – and runs until Saturday 2 January 2027, with both matinee and evening performances available.
Tickets cost from £20 to £32 each, with no restricted-view seats no matter what the price. There are also discounts for families of two adults and up to four children on weekend, evening and premium tiered performances from Saturday 19 December 2026
