Cheltenham Science Festival 2020 will take place as a virtual festival, from Tuesday 2 to Sunday 7 June 2020, Cheltenham Festivals has revealed.
Cheltenham Science Festival @ Home will be streamed for free on the Cheltenham Festivals YouTube channel, promising six days of science with a mixture of pre-recorded events, live sessions with speakers and participatory workshops.
Daily events will run between 10am and 8pm across the week, with the full line-up due to be announced on Tuesday 19 May 2020.
This year’s festival is curated by AIDA – the world’s first artificial intelligence festival curator – and will offer audiences across Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and the world, a chance to interact with her and influence her development, as she takes over the Cheltenham Festivals social media channels and acts as a what’s on guide.
Cheltenham Festivals’ director of festivals, Ian George, said: ‘Cheltenham Science Festival @ Home is an unprecedented opportunity for Cheltenham Science Festival to grow into an emerging digital events and festivals space.?It presents us with new freedom to experiment with different event formats, as well as to expand our digital and worldwide audiences.’
