Get ready to hit the lanes, as Cheltenham’s Hollywood Bowl is reopening to customers on Saturday 1 August 2020.

The venue in The Brewery Quarter was initially hoping to reopen in early July 2020, but government lockdown restrictions in England for bowling alleys has only just made this possible.

Cheltenham’s ten-pin bowling alley has measures in place to reopen safely, including having only alternate lanes operational and restricting visitor numbers to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

Additional safety measures include providing hand sanitiser throughout the centre, cleaning bowling balls, ramps, seating and screens between each use and a new seating layout in the bar and diner.

Staff will be wearing face masks and gloves and Perspex screens will be installed at till points. The centre will also have disposable gloves in adult and child sizes for customers who want to wear them.

Anyone wanting to play will need book in advance to guarantee there’s a lane available. Bowlers will also need to wear covered shoes, such as trainers or flat boots, as there’ll be no bowling shoes to hire for the time being.
