A new vegan deli is opening at Stroud's Five Valleys Shopping Centre this Saturday 23 July 2022.

Vegicatessen is a fully vegan deli hoping to fill a gap in the market in Stroud, promising a 'fusion between veganism and the indulgence of a great delicatessen' with a wide range of plant-based products on offer, including cashew-based artisan cheeses and vegan charcuterie, a range of gourmet sandwiches and salads to take away, as well as a selection of condiments and cooking sauces.

Run by husband-and-wife team, James and Charlotte Lawrence, the business was set up by the couple during the pandemic and has been trading online for the last 16 months, with the success of the website leading them to open the Five Valleys venue.

They said: 'We both feel passionately about delivering exemplary customer service and offering the very best in quality and range of plant-based produce. We visit Stroud every weekend as we find it to be a vibrant town boasting lots of culture with a community of people that really supports small, independent businesses.'

The Lawrences pride themselves on handpicking and personally endorsing all the products on the shelves, many of which aren't available at major supermarkets, with the business also aiming to support vegan producers from Gloucestershire.

On top of that, Vegicatessen also donates one per cent of every spend to ethical causes close to the owners' hearts, including animal welfare and the environment.

Five Valleys centre manager, Jessica Derham, added: 'It’s wonderful to see another quality foodie business join our centre.

'The centre is undergoing a huge multi-million-pound transformation currently and the businesses joining us on this journey are a huge part of the Five Valleys transformation. We look forward to the new medical centre opening in September and to becoming the main hub for health and well-being in the town with this great new addition.'

Vegicatessen officially opens at Five Valleys Indoor Market on Saturday 23 July 2022 and will be open seven days a week, with a click and collect service available, too.
