Gin drinkers are in for a treat as Cheltenham’s first Gin and Tea Bar has announced its confirmed opening date as Saturday 3 November 2018.

Having initially expected to open in mid-October, the innovative bar is the brainchild of the team behind East India Café in the heart of Cheltenham and is thought to be one of the world’s first bars dedicated exclusively to gin and tea.

The bar, which is positioned on Cheltenham’s Promenade, will serve 55 different gins from across the globe as well as a range of teas infused with delicate spices.

Inspired by the British Raj period, the bar’s interiors hope to transport visitors back to the 19th century where they can also enjoy Anglo-Indian inspired cuisine too.

Speaking about the opening, co-owner of East India Café and the new Memsahib Gin & Tea bar, Litu Mohiuddin said: ‘It’s taken a lot of effort to get everything pulled together and on course, but we’re now extremely excited to finally unveil our concept to the public, and looking forward to welcoming them to the home of the memsahib, where they’ll enjoy excellent food, exceptional service and gorgeous drinks.’
