Popular pizza restaurant, Bosco Pizzeria, is opening in Cheltenham’s Quadrangle after its multi-million-pound renovation – and SoGlos got an exclusive first look before it officially opens on Thursday 19 May 2022.

With two venues in Bristol and another in Bath, the Cheltenham pizzeria is Bosco’s fourth venue.

Inspired by Naples, New York and San Francisco, the pizza parlour has an open kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven, creating a modern and vibrant dining space that’s perfect for all occasions.

The interior is light and airy with bifold doors opening onto a terrace area of tables and comfy chairs overlooking Imperial Gardens, offering a perfect spot to soak up some sunshine on a warm summer’s afternoon or evening.

The menu has a superb selection of pizza, pasta, salad and meat dishes with fresh focaccia baked each morning to accompany them.

With limited options for vegan and gluten-free diners, there is plenty for meat and cheese lovers to enjoy.

As well as an extensive wine list, cocktails are also on the menu with options including the Jungle Bird which mixes rum, Campari, blood orange liqueur, white peach, orange and lime; a gin and apricot brandy White Lady; and a tangy tequila and pink grapefruit Paloma.

Italian beers, grappa, limoncello, coffee and a sweet selection of soft drinks feature on the menu too.

SoGlos sampled a selection of delicious dishes to get a feel for the food on offer, with some of our favourites including the arancini balls – flavoursome fried risotto with taleggio served piping hot and oozing with melted cheese at the centre; wood-roasted artichoke with Stracciatella, pangrattato, parsley and olive oil, which offered an indulgent yet light starter with delicate flavours.

The hearty rare steak salad, served on a bed of peppery rocket and dusted with tangy parmesan and streaks of aged balsamic vinegar and olive oil, offered hefty competition to the crusty bubbling pizzas which were served steaming straight from the oven and packed full of flavour, as well as being sizeable enough to be taken away in pizza boxes to finish off later.

The Italian favourite of traditional tiramisu, which is a generous enough portion to share, is also not to be missed and will certainly end a memorable meal on a high.

Bosco Pizzeria opens at Cheltenham’s Quadrangle on Thursday 19 May 2022 and is taking bookings now.
