Strip Steak Bar and Mexican restaurant Elote are bringing an array of fresh flavours to Gloucester Food Dock this spring 2024.

Elote is opening its doors on Thursday 23 May 2024 and bringing with it an all-day Mexican dining concept, from local chef Lewis Spencer.

It introduces an authentic Mexican menu to the broad mix already now well established at the food destination that ranges from cafe culture and ice cream through to pizza, burgers and beer.

Elote's menu has been developed from traditional Mexican dishes, drawn from an admiration for the people and culture after Lewis’ travels through the region.

It features dishes created from ingredients sourced directly from Mexican grocers, including fresh en salada, Tacqueria and Mexican 'elote’ street corn.

From citrus-cured fish to a daily brunch, Elote is all about serving up true authenticity within a welcomingly designed aesthetic.

There's also a coffee bar, with a plant wall, where visitors can purchase their own plants to take home.

Offering a casual dining experience, with a focus towards authentic dishes bursting with the flavours of Mexico, it's located within one of Gloucester Food Dock's characterful historic vaults.

Strip Steak Bar is also opening on on Thursday 23 May 2024, serving up premium quality, rapidly served steak in a fast-paced street food-style.

The new restaurant is the brainchild of Ross Sanders and chef Arthur Knights, who have worked together for over a decade.

After the success of their award-winning steakhouse The Lazy Cow, they have joined forces again to showcase their fresh skills, built up from the newly opened The Stroud hotel.

Strip Steak Bar's menu of Black Angus strip steak is served to diners' liking, either juicy pink or cooked through. There's also the option of garlic-buttered chicken wrap and beef-dripping fries amongst a selection of creative sides and signature strip donuts.

Arthur said: 'We offer both chicken and beef in a unique environment creating an experience of premium street food.

'There are no bookings, no bother and no bull! Just perfectly cooked steak, served rapidly – we can’t wait to 'meat' diners soon.'
