Following eight years holding an iconic AA Rosette for culinary excellence, Gloucester restaurant, The Wharf House, has become one of the few places in the area to scoop a coveted two AA Rosette-status.
The AA chooses to award two Rosettes to what it calls ‘the best local restaurants’, which aim for and achieve higher standards, better consistency, greater precision in the cooking, and obvious attention to the selection of quality ingredients’.
The next closest restaurants to hold the accolade are The Greenway and Curry Corner in Cheltenham, The Bell Inn in Selsley, The Old Passage Inn in Arlingham and Wilder in Nailsworth.
‘There is no formality you might expect with such an award, however, at lunchtime you are as welcome to enjoy a freshly prepared panini or deli board as you are the a la carte or exquisite nine-course tasting menu’, commented chef and director, David Penny.
