Popular Oxfordshire restaurant group, Dosa Park, is opening its first Gloucestershire venue this January 2024.

Taking over the former Tierra and Mar on Sheep Street in Cirencester, which closed its doors after five years in June 2023, Dosa Park specialises in South Indian cuisine like its namesake dosas, idlis (savoury rice cakes), savoury fried vadas and more familiar favourites like biryanis and curries.

Offering something different to Cirencester's other Asian restaurants, its menu of authentic dishes promises a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, too.

Co-owner, Omer Rahim, said: 'This is a very different concept to the current Asian cuisine in Cirencester and offers an authenticity to this style of cooking. There are options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

'Dosa is a popular dish from this part of the world. It can be served with variety of fillings and accompaniments, such as potato filling, coconut chutney, sambar and other flavourful curries. We look forward to sharing our food with you.'

The Cotswold restaurant is Dosa Park's fourth venue — and its first in Gloucestershire — with three other sites all in Oxfordshire, including two in Oxford itself. The new Cirencester venue is set to create up to 10 new jobs for local people, too.

An official opening date is yet to be announced, but Dosa Park is aiming to open in January 2024.
