Swimmers in the Cotswolds will be able to make a splash once more as Cirencester open air swimming pool is due to reopen on Thursday 20 May 2021.

The pool at Cirencester Park, which was built in 1869 and is believed to be one of the oldest outdoor swimming pools in the country, boasts a 28-metre heated main pool, as well as a separate children’s paddling pool, children’s slide and a sunbathing patio.

It offers dedicated lane swimming, parent and toddler sessions, as well as an adult evening swim.

The pool relies on volunteers and donations to operate – the charity received a £3,000 Covid-19 grant in 2020 to help cover its losses from being forced to close, but is looking forward to reopening for the summer season this year.

Season tickets for Cirencester open air swimming pool are due to go on sale in April 2021.
