With staff shortages causing travel chaos at airports around the country, interest in domestic holidays is still surging post-pandemic, with one holiday letting agency reporting that bigger properties in the Cotswolds are booking faster than pre-pandemic levels.

Based in Cheltenham, Bolthole Retreats exclusively offers everything from traditional cottages to lakeside lodges in the Cotswolds, with the bigger properties on its books currently proving the most popular with holidaymakers – over 40% of bookings made in June were for properties sleeping eight or more.

With many people still making up for lost time during the pandemic, Bolthole Retreats’ beautiful barn conversions, stunning manor houses and sprawling estates sleeping up to 20 guests mean people can celebrate milestone events in a way they were prevented from doing so in recent years.

Rebekah England, Managing Director of Bolthole Retreats, said: ‘We are always looking for more holiday homes to join our collection, and with the strong demand of bigger properties by guests, we are looking to increase our offering of large and luxurious, as well as traditional holiday cottages, in honeypot locations’.

For those with properties to let in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, Bolthole Retreats offers the lowest commission in the Cotswolds, above industry average occupancy levels and award-winning customer service. ‘We work in close partnership with our owners so every guest is looked after and every owner receives a high level of personable service,’ adds England.

Bolthole Retreats also prides itself on using local knowledge to help drive bookings during peak periods and around popular events, such as Badminton Horse Trials and Cornbury Music Festival. The company works with local businesses as well, promoting activities near their properties as ‘Cotswold Experiences’ to enhance guests’ staycations and boost local tourism.
