Lilian Faithfull Care has announced that its care homes will allow visitors and day care hubs will reopen on Monday 8 March 2021.
The elderly care charity, which operates five care homes and two day care hubs across Gloucestershire, can allow residents to have one designated visitor under strictly controlled conditions, which include a requirement to take a lateral flow Covid-19 test and wear PPE.
These conditions mean that as well as being able to see their loved one face-to-face, residents will also be able to hold their hand – a special opportunity for people who may not have had any physical contact with relatives for nearly a year.
Lilian Faithfull’s director of care, Suzanne Booker said: ‘We know how much this will mean to all those we care for and their families and friends. It has been so longed for and it is a really significant moment for us all.’
Speaking about its two day care hubs, Suzanne added: ‘We know how important our hubs are for combatting the loneliness and isolation in our communities which has been exacerbated during the pandemic and we look forward to reopening safely on Monday 8 March 2021.’
Anyone wishing to visit a loved one at a Lilian Faithfull Care home will need to book a slot in advance by calling or emailing the home where they live.
