Free parking for Christmas shoppers in Tewkesbury and Winchcombe

Christmas shoppers can park for free in council car parks in Tewkesbury and Winchcombe on selected dates this December 2021.

Christmas shoppers in Tewkesbury and Winchcombe are being encouraged to shop local with free parking in council car parks this December 2021.

Tewkesbury Borough Council is offering free parking in its car parks in Tewkesbury on Saturday 4 and Saturday 18 December 2021, as well as free parking at council-owned car parks in Winchcombe on Saturday 4, Saturday 11 and Saturday 18 December 2021.

As well as trying to reduce unnecessary travel during the festive period, the council hopes residents will enjoy the more unique experience that shopping locally can provide.

Councillor Robert Vines, lead member for finance and asset management, said: ‘We would like residents to do their Christmas shopping near to home and hope our offer of free parking will encourage them to do so.

‘They will not only find a great variety of shops with a splendid array of gifts and festive fare, but will also be lending their valued support to our local businesses.’
