Gloucestershire businesses light up in blue and yellow to show support for Ukraine

Organisations across Gloucestershire are showing their support for Ukraine by illuminating landmarks and business premises in blue and yellow.

Just one small way that Gloucestershire’s organisations are standing in solidarity with Ukraine is by lighting up in blue and yellow.

Gloucester Cathedral lit its tower in the colours of the Ukrainian flag, with the cathedral bell tolling for seven minutes at midday on Thursday 5 March 2022 to mark its solidarity with those affected by the Ukraine war.

The cathedral also joined with other religious institutions around the world in a prayer for peace, as well as welcoming those wanting to light candles and say private prayers.

Cheltenham Town Hall will also be lit in blue and yellow from Friday 4 until Sunday 6 March 2022 in solidarity with Ukraine.

With SoGlos’ headquarters on Imperial Square, opposite the Town Hall, also currently illuminated in the colours of Ukraine to show our support and solidarity for those caught up in the conflict.

Businesses and organisations in the county are showing their support in other ways too. With Stroud District Council flying the Ukrainian flag outside its headquarters at Ebley Mill in Stroud, for example.

The Cheltenham Trust is also encouraging members of the public to leave messages of support in books of solidarity to the people of Ukraine from Monday 7 March 2022 at the Garden Bar Orangery in Imperial Gardens, the Pittville Pump Room café and the Fitstop café at Leisure at Cheltenham.

Gloucestershire is proud to #StandWithUkraine.
