National Star hosts its first ever virtual pet show

Gloucestershire charity National Star is looking for cute cats, dapper dogs and beautiful bunnies as it hosts its first ever virtual pet show this May.

National Star, a Gloucestershire charity that supports young people with complex disabilities, is hosting its first ever virtual pet show from Tuesday 19 to Friday 29 May 2020.

After being forced to postpone a dog show earlier this month due to Coronavirus, the charity is now encouraging pet owners of all kinds to enter their animals on the National Star Facebook page.

Categories include cutest pet on camera, funniest pet, my pet’s got talent and best pet selfie, with entries being judged by charity ambassador Dr Dawn Harper and her two dogs Fennel and Grouse.

There is a minimum donation of £3 per category and owners can enter their pet into as many categories as they like. All winners will receive a limited-edition rosette through the post.

Dr Dawn Harper said: ‘Pets have kept families entertained, provided much-needed company for those self-isolating and generally brought a smile to the faces of their owners during lockdown. What better way to thank them for their companionship and support than to enter them into this fabulous Virtual Pet Show being organised by National Star.

‘I cannot wait to judge the entries and to see the range of pets that are adored by families throughout Gloucestershire and beyond.’

Details of how to enter your pet can be found on the National Star Facebook page, which you can visit at facebook.com/nationalstar.
