Stroud’s Museum in the Park reopens with new Ice Age exhibition

From mammoths to man-caves, discover some of Gloucestershire’s most fascinating Ice Age history when Museum in the Park reopens doors to visitors, this January 2022.

The Museum in the Park has opened its doors to the public once more, introducing its newest Ice Age exhibition, which will be running from Tuesday 25 January to Sunday 27 March 2022.

Promising to fascinate visitors of all age groups, the new – and totally free – exhibition explores half a million years of ancient local history, featuring the ins-and-outs of the changing climate, rising sea-levels, mass migration and the extinction of species.

The experience is enhanced by the chance to admire rarely-seen artefacts from the Museum in the Park’s own collection.

What’s more, there will also be free online talks and family activities at weekends and during school holidays for little ones to enjoy.

Councillor Chris Brine, chair of Stroud District Council’s community services and licensing committee said, ‘I’m really proud of the service that our Museum in the Park offers to the whole district and beyond.

‘As well as this fantastic exhibition, the museum is an invaluable resource which tells the story of our district so well’.
