With all-new menus, stylish interiors and its famous lively atmosphere now restored, SoGlos is celebrating the reopening of Cheltenham's Montpellier Wine Bar & Bistro this summer 2024 by giving one lucky reader the chance to win a three-course dinner for four.

A fixture in Montpellier for 45 years until its sudden closure in 2022, the wine bar's iconic Victorian corner building has been lovingly refurbished by new owner The Hatton Collection, which runs a portfolio of well-known hotels and inns across the Cotswolds, Somerset and Jersey areas, including Hatton Court in Gloucester.

The bar and restaurant have been brought back to life with glamourous new interiors and menus based on modern British bistro cuisine, with a touch of French finesse.

Described as a ‘lively, unpretentious' place to unwind with friends — or make new ones — the new Montpellier Wine Bar & Bistro offers a stylish, ‘no frills’ dining experience, whether you're inside its newly refurbished bar and restaurant or out on its large sun-dappled terrace, famous for its after work 'golden hour'.

The dinner menu features starters like ham hock terrine with salt cured egg, beetroot piccalilli and sourdough; homemade crumpet with brown shrimp, Welsh rarebit and fennel salad; and crispy fishcake with poached egg, wilted spinach and beurre blanc.

Main courses include hake fillet with sea vegetables, steamed mussels and clams with beurre blanc; the MWB burger with gem lettuce, red onion, beef tomato, relish, gherkin and fries, with the option to add cheese or bacon; and basil gnocchi with red pepper pesto, tomato and feta.

And for dessert, options include affogato with an espresso shot, amaretti biscuit and ice cream; egg custard tart with Chantilly cream and berries; and salted caramel truffles with a glass of champagne.
