The Cotswolds got yet another stylish endorsement from The Celebrity Traitors as presenter Claudia Winkleman appeared on screen wearing a bespoke suit made by a Cirencester tailor using Chipping Norton tweed.
Tom Wharton of Barrington Ayre Shirtmaker & Tailor in Cirencester – whose bespoke suit made for James Blunt was chosen by the singer for his debut on the hit BBC show – won the commission from Claudia Winkleman by showing impressive initiative.
He independently developed an outfit concept for the presenter to wear on the show, and suggested it to her stylist, Sinead McKeefry.
Tom said: ‘We have always loved The Traitors, and especially the clothing Claudia wears. A few years ago, I put together an outfit idea showing how we would dress Claudia, posted it on Instagram and sent it to Sinead.
‘She very kindly came back to say she loved what we had done. We stayed in touch on and off for around 18 months before she asked us to develop some ideas for Claudia and ultimately make her a suit.
‘Seeing our clothing being worn for customers’ weddings and special events is always fantastic. But seeing something you have made being worn on television by some of the most influential celebrities is an epic buzz.’
Claudia wore her made-to-measure Cotswolds suit on The Celebrity Traitors on Friday 23 October 2026.
The bespoke three-piece suit combines traditional British tweed with the individuality of made-to-measure craftsmanship.
Barrington Ayre made the suit in its own workrooms above its Cirencester showroom using a brown, mid-weight herringbone Cotswold Country Tweed from British cloth supplier William Bliss.
The fabric has a particularly strong local connection, having been woven in the UK using archive tweeds from the former William Bliss Tweed Mill in Chipping Norton.
Claudia is said to have another Cotswolds connection herself, as she is rumoured to have a home in the area as a countryside escape from London life for her family.
Anyone wanting to recreate Claudia's Cotswold tweed look can order the same suit from Barrington Ayre for £1,595, made to order, with a fully bespoke version available for those wanting a completely individual fit, cloth or detailing.
