Westonbirt Arboretum is reopening in June with new booking system

Forestry England has announced that Westonbirt Arboretum will reopen to visitors this June, with an online booking system ensuring social distancing can be maintained.

Westonbirt, The National Arboretum near Tetbury, will reopen to visitors on Wednesday 3 June 2020 with a new online booking system to ensure people can maintain social distancing.

Forestry England began reopening car parks and facilities at its Gloucestershire destinations on Wednesday 20 May 2020, with Westonbirt Arboretum being the latest to welcome visitors back.

Anyone wishing to visit Westonbirt Arboretum will need to pre-book tickets online and pick their arrival time from a choice of 20-minute slots between 9am and 4.20pm daily.

Once inside, Westonbirt Arboretum visitors are welcome to stay as long as they like, until the Arboretum closes at 5pm.

Director of Westonbirt Arboretum, Andrew Smith, said: ‘The past few months have been challenging and stressful for so many people, and we are thrilled to now be able to reopen our doors so people can come and enjoy this stunning landscape and magnificent collection of trees, and enjoy all the physical and mental health benefits that spending time in nature has to offer.’

While Westonbirt Arboretum will be open, the welcome building, play areas and shop will all remain closed for the time being.
