Nature in Art, the world's first gallery dedicated to art inspired by nature, has revealed its must-see programme of autumn exhibitions.
From Tuesday 8 September until Sunday 4 October 2026, Nature in Art hosts 'In Sync: Words and Wonders', pairing artwork with poems to celebrate how art inspires poetry, and how poetry inspires art, and has done for centuries.
Featuring works from its extensive collection displayed across its gallery spaces, the exhibition also invites visitors to take a moment to write their own poetic responses to the artworks on display.
Launching with a private viewing on Tuesday 29 September 2026, 'Looking Deep into Nature' is a retrospective of work by Peter Partington – an important member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and Nature in Art's very first artist in residence back in 1989.
Peter's work brings birds and animals in their natural habitats to life through paint, print and sculpture, inspired by his field sketches. Alongside a diverse selection of his work, the exhibition features items from his studio and work from private collections which have never been displayed in public before.
'Looking Deep into Nature' runs until Sunday 25 October 2026 and is accompanied by a limited edition new book, Peter Partington: The Artists Anthology, which will be available in the gallery shop throughout the exhibition.
Rounding off the season is Nature in Art's annual gift and craft fair, which runs from Saturday 31 October until Sunday 1 November 2026.
Promising a unique and inspiring experience, the long-running fair gives visitors the chance to browse 45 stalls from local artists and crafters selling everything from ceramics, glassware and jewellery, to woodwork, textiles, resin art, flower art and photography, with some stallholders also demonstrating their craft during the event.
As well as exploring the upstairs galleries and sculpture garden, Nature in Art's coffee shop is running a special themed menu for the event – and Nature in Art has it's own 'homemade and homegrown' stall for the first time this year, to fundraise for the Nature in Art Trust.
Tickets for the exhibitions cost £7.50 for adults, £6.75 for concessions and £20 for families, while tickets for the annual gift and craft fair cost £3 each. Children under eight can visit Nature in Art for free.
