In the mid-1990s, Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine created what has grown to become one of the most recognisable British jewellery brands around.

And this summer, New Brewery Arts is celebrating 20 years of Tatty Devine, from its humble beginnings at Spitalfields Market in London to the iconic brand is has become today.

Taking place from Saturday 26 June to Sunday 5 September 2021, Misshapes: The Making of Tatty Devine explores the power of creativity; innovative British manufacturing; the importance of collaboration; entrepreneurship; and why Tatty Devine is still so culturally relevant in 2021.

Tatty Devine’s founders have always had a DIY ethos, hand making jewellery by recycling things like scraps of leather or guitar plectrums, to investing in a laser-cutting machine to make their own shapes.

And with creative self-expression at the very heart of the brand, New Brewery Arts is also hosting two jewellery-making workshops with Katie Vickers from Tatty Devine, with the chance to create a mini bunting necklace from 12pm to 1.30pm or a glitter rainbow bunting necklace from 2pm to 3.30pm on Saturday 21 August 2021.

There’s also the chance to get your hands on an exclusive piece from Tatty Devine’s one-off 20th anniversary collection, with items available to buy from the New Brewery Arts shop.

Admission to the exhibition is free, with the mini bunting necklace workshop costing £30 per person and the glitter rainbow bunting necklace workshop costing £47 – with all materials included.

Misshapes: The Making of Tatty Devine is A Tatty Devine and Crafts Council exhibition funded by Arts Council England.
