Celebrate the start of the Christmas season at Gloucester Cathedral's Advent Carol Procession this November 2022.

Gloucester Cathedral is inviting people to mark the start of the Christmas season at its Advent Carol Procession service on Sunday 27 November 2022.

Starting at 6pm, the dramatic candlelit service coincides with the beginning of the new Christian year and the official start of the Christmas season, with people of all faiths and of none welcome to attend.

With the theme of 'from darkness to light' and beautiful music provided by the cathedral choir, it promises to be a fitting start to the festive season in Gloucestershire.

The Advent Carol Procession service is free and no tickets are required, with people able to turn up and join in on the day.

For anyone who isn't able to attend in person, the service is also being live-streamed on Gloucester Cathedral's Facebook page at facebook.com/GloucesterCathedral, so people can take part from the comfort of their own home.
