Brave visitors can put their courage to the test this October half term, eek-sploring an amazing trail and the wildlife that lurks at Slimbridge Wetland Centre.
Suitably spooky in the run-up to Halloween, eek! week is taking place from Saturday 22 to Monday 31 October 2022 — encouraging youngsters to delve into the weird and wonderful world of wetland nature.
Be on alert as you make your way around the wetlands, with a whole host of engaging activities to discover along the interactive trail, which promises a fun wildlife learning experience for children of all ages.
Daring fearless visitors to put their hands into a snake box, feel an eel and see how long they could hold their breath underwater, there will also be the opportunity to interact with the augmented reality iSandbox to summon a swarm of moths and butterflies.
Sensory activities will help children to immerse themselves in nature as they listen out for toads, discover the textures of a newt and even investigate owl poo.
Plus, with pond dipping activities taking place every day at 2pm, discover what mysterious critters lurk beneath the water...
