Archery at Berkeley Castle

Every Monday from Monday 20 July until Monday 24 August 2026, visitors to Berkeley Castle can try their hand at archery, with the imposing castle providing a spectacular backdrop for a truly immersive experience. Have-a-go archery is included within the price of admission.
Animal encounters at Berkeley Castle

On Tuesdays from Tuesday 21 July until Tuesday 25 August 2026, visitors can marvel at powerful birds of prey in flight with falconry displays at Berkeley Castle. Displays take place at 12pm and 3pm on the Lower Lawn – with visitors able to meet the falconer and his birds, too.
While on Wednesdays from Wednesday 22 July until Wednesday 26 August 2026, brave visitors can get up close to creatures including rats, snakes and frogs, learning all about their surpsiring roles in British history – with both falconry and Historical Hysterical Critters experiences included within the price of admission.
Dinosaur Day at Berkeley Castle

Watch in awe as Raptor and Diablo rampage through the castle grounds on Dinosaur Day this Sunday 26 July 2026, with the dinos let loose between 11.30am until 3.30pm. Dinosaur Day is included within the price of admission to Berkeley Castle when you book tickets for this date.
Medieval live entertainment at Berkeley Castle

The Tudors are in town on Sunday 23 August 2026, with Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth I and Thomas Cromwell providing interactive entertainment on everything from political plots to royal romances. Tudorly Terrible History is included in the price of admission on this date, too.
And the most unmissable event of the year, The Berkeley Castle Joust takes place on Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August 2026, bringing the legendary Knights of Nottingham to the castle to face each other in an exhilirating battle of combat, courage and horsemanship. Outdoor theatre at Berkeley Castle

Berkeley Castle also plays host to a trio of outdoor theatre shows this summer. The Duke's Theatre Company performs Romeo and Juliet on Wednesday 29, Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July 2026, with their 'bold reimagining' of Shakespeare's classic tragedy featuring original music and dynamic staging, set against the imposing silhouette of Berkeley Castle as the sun sets.
Paperback Theatre brings E. Nesbitt's beloved The Railway Children to life on Sunday 2 August 2026, with two daytime performances included within the price of admission to Berkeley Castle.
And rounding off the season, Gloucestershire theatre company, Jenny Wren Productions, brings a unique adaptation of two Arthur Conan Doyle stories to the castle with Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Governor's Nose, on Tuesday 25 August 2026.
