The Duke's Theatre Company brings one of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies to Berkeley Castle this summer, with three evening performances of Romeo and Juliet – promising a 'bold reimagining' of this timeless tale, featuring original music and dynamic staging.
Paperback Theatre returns to Berkeley Castle with two daytime performances of its charming and playful adaptation of E. Nesbitt's The Railway Children.
And closing out the season is Gloucestershire-based Jenny Wren Productions with Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Governor's Nose – a comedic new caper based on two Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories, The Naval Treaty and The Man with the Twisted Lip.
When are outdoor theatre performances at Berkeley Castle?
Romeo and Juliet is on Wednesday 29, Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July 2026, with gates opening at 6.15pm and performances starting at 7pm.
There are two performances of The Railway Children at 11am and 3pm on Sunday 2 August 2026.
And Sherlock Holmes is on Tuesday 25 August 2026 from 6pm.
How much are tickets to outdoor theatre performances at Berkeley Castle?
Tickets for Romeo and Juliet cost £20 per adult and £18.50 for under 16s.
Tickets for Sherlock Holmes cost £18 per adult and £15 for under 16s.
The Railway Children is free included within the cost of admission to the castle on the day of the performance.
