New Year’s Day racing at Cheltenham Racecourse

Not only an excellent opportunity to blow away the cobwebs after Christmas, New Year’s Day racing at Cheltenham Racecourse makes a fun day out for all the family, too.

As the biggest and most popular one-day fixture at Cheltenham Racecourse, taking place on Sunday 1 January 2022, the New Year’s Day Races promise a brilliant day for the whole family – with free entry for under 18s.

See in the new year with trackside action in the festive fresh air, with the chance to witness exhilarating racing from some of the best horses, jockeys and trainers in the UK, while researching which horses to back at The Festival in March 2023.

Alongside the thrilling horseracing, the Family Fun Zone offers children’s activities for entertaining younger racegoers – with appearances from Paddington, The Snowman and The Snowdog, as well as the chance to meet a Christmas unicorn!

Tickets start from £12 for the Best Mate enclosure, or £30 for the Club/Tatts enclosure, with discounts for groups. Various hospitality packages are also available, including food and drink, a table for the day, admission and parking.
