Gloucester is getting its own The Butterfly Hut café, opening in the centre of Gloucester Park in March 2021.

Gloucester Park’s new café, The Butterfly Hut, is opening this Friday 26 March 2021.

The team behind The Butterfly Box café in Cheltenham’s Hatherley Park and The Outdoor Inn at The Fleece in Gloucester has transformed the hut at the centre of Gloucester Park into a new café, with the help of its owner Ruby Shepard.

Open daily, the café will serve up homemade baked treats, ice creams and barista coffee from Gloucester-based Ethical Addictions coffee roasters.

Directors Matt Nolan, Jay Adler and Ruby Shepard hope to ‘re-energise the park and local communities’, with the café set to operate for a year-long trial when it opens this March 2021.

Matt Nolan said: ‘This is an exciting opportunity and we’re extremely grateful for the council enabling us to play a part in the wider regeneration of Gloucester and this park.’

Ruby Shepard said: ‘We can’t wait to open and make Gloucester Park an enjoyable destination for all.’

The Butterfly Hut opens on Friday 26 March 2021.
