The Fountain Inn

53 Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2NW | (01452) 522562

The Fountain Inn in Gloucester is a traditional country-style pub in the heart of the city, located just a stone’s throw from the historic Gloucester Cathedral.

First built in the 16th century, The Fountain Inn is one of Gloucester’s oldest ale houses and maintains its heritage and traditional values to this day – with a particular passion for real ales and a great selection always on tap from the likes of Hook Norton and Butcombe Breweries, alongside a huge range of gins, ciders, wines, as well as soft and hot drinks.

The Fountain Inn’s award-winning courtyard garden is one of the best pub gardens in Gloucester, providing a peaceful haven away from the hubbub of Westgate Street, where diners can tuck into quality pub grub, ranging from steaks, pies and sandwiches to fresh fish and Sunday roasts.

During the colder months, a cosy log fire greets visitors, with dogs very welcome. Plus, The Fountain Inn is also home to a number of popular function rooms available to hire for birthdays and celebrations.
