There’s nothing like a good old sing-song to get you into the festive mood, with a host of traditional carols and seasonal choral pieces taking place at stunning venues across the county this year.

Carols on the Hour at Gloucester Cathedral

Gloucester Cathedral will once again be filled with beautiful Christmas music at its special Carols on the Hour event. The free family-friendly event takes place on Saturday 17 December 2022, with guests encouraged to arrive early for the service they’d like to attend to guarantee entry.

Carols at The Fairview Gardener

Wrap up warm and join in with feel-good festive sing-a-longs at The Fairview Gardener near Gloucester, hosting its community carol service in partnership with Churcham Church on Friday 16 December 2022 at 6.30pm.

Christmas concert at Berkeley Castle

Orchestra Pro Anima will perform a Christmassy concert at Berkeley Castle on Sunday 11 December 2022, spreading seasonal magic through festive music in a majestic setting. Plus, there’s complimentary mince pies and wine for that extra Christmas sparkle, too.

Carols at Tewkesbury Abbey

With singing from Tewkesbury Abbey Choir, the magnificent Tewkesbury Abbey will host Music for the Christmas Season on Saturday 3 December 2022 at 7.30pm, presenting five works related in different ways to the festive period.

Christmas concert at Cheltenham Town Hall

Cheltenham Town Hall is welcoming back Tapestry of Christmas Music for another year, with music from the Cheltenham Choral Society, joined by the acclaimed Boyregards and the young voices of the St Mary's C of E Junior School, on Tuesday 13 December 2022 at 7pm.

Carols at Saul Junction

For a unique canalside carolling experience, revellers can belt out Christmas songs on the water at Saul Junction, accompanied by the Frampton Silver Band, on Saturday 10 December 2022 at 6pm. Carollers are invited to come by boat or car and there’ll be mulled wine and mince pies to enjoy, too.

Carols at The Royal Agricultural University

Families can ring in the festive season with an evening of Christmas carols at The Royal Agricultural University on Wednesday 7 December 2022 at 7pm. Visitors will hear traditional carols throughout the evening and enjoy refreshments in the Tithe Barn.

Sing-a-long carols at Blackfriars Priory, Gloucester

In aid of Young Gloucestershire, hear and join in with all of your favourite Christmas carols and other Christmas songs with music provided by the Forest of Dean Brass and singing from the Young Gloucestershire choir at Blackfriars Priory sing-a-long carol service on Tuesday 13 December 2022 at 7.15pm.

Sing-a-long carols at Burleigh Court 

Round off your year by heading to Burleigh Court Hotel in the Cotswolds for an evening of festive fun, as visitors are invited to join in a sing-a-long of Christmas carols led by the Choro Camino. Carols will be hosted on Wednesday 14 December 2022, outside on the back terrace with atmospheric log fires burning, plus mulled wine and mince pies. 

Swing into Christmas at Cheltenham Town Hall

Returning to Cheltenham Town Hall for another year, award-winning vocalists and instrumentalists from the Down for the Count Orchestra - as seen at Ronnie Scott's - are performing a festive concert on Tuesday 13 December 2022, featuring Christmas classics such as Santa Baby and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
