10 tasty experiences to tuck into this Cheltenham Food and Drink Week

The first Cheltenham Food and Drink Week has been launched, with a feast of lively foodie experiences to tuck into - from tasting menus, masterclasses and special set menus, as well as live entertainment - taking place across Cheltenham from Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October 2022.

There's something for everyone at the first Cheltenham Food and Drink Week - from lavish fine dining feasts with wine pairing to affordable set menus, not to mention a gin masterclass and live music at The Brewery Quarter. 

Organised by Cheltenham BID and Visit Cheltenham, SoGlos takes a look at 10 of the tasty highlights to tuck into.

Lumiere vs The Grape Escape

Diners will feast on a six-course menu on Wednesday 28 September 2022 at 7pm. Alongside delectable dishes, there'll be 12 paired wines - six chosen by Lumiere and six selected by The Grape Escape - with votes on diners' favourite pairings collected after each course to see who comes out on top.

Tickets cost £150 per person. They can be booked via the Lumiere website or through The Grape Escape.

Gin masterclass and tasting at Hub Box

Find out what makes Tarquin’s Cornish gin so special with the experts at Hub Box in The Brewery Quarter.

At 6pm on Thursday 29 September 2022, gin experts will run through a brief history of Tarquin’s Cornish gin, followed by a tasting of the full range and talk through perfect serves.

Tickets are £20 for the masterclass, which lasts around two hours and includes a G&T on arrival, as well as a goody bag to take away. 

Bottomless brunch and lunch at No.3

From Thursday 29 September 2022 to Saturday 1 October 2022, between 11am to 1.30pm, any dish from the No.3 brunch or a la carte menu can be enjoyed with bottomless prosecco, Aperol Spritz, Mimosa or juices for an additional £15.95 per person.

Prefer a Sunday lunch? On Sunday 2 October 2022, any main dish served between midday to 2pm can include bottomless prosecco for an additional £15.95 per person. Bookings are required.

Taste of KIBOU

The 'Taste of KIBOU' exclusive menu offers four-courses of popular Japanese dishes for £26.50 at the award-winning restaurant in Regent Street.

From Monday to Friday, from 12pm to 6pm, diners can choose from a selection of appetizers, Japanese small plates, sushi and dessert, with vegetarian and vegan options available. A signature KIBOU cocktail on the side is £10.

The Alchemist set menu

Soak up The Alchemist's celebration of the dark and unconventional with a special two-course meal for £15 or three-course meal for £20.

The offer runs from Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October 2022, excluding Saturday 1 October 2022. Advance booking is essential.

Giggling Squid special menu

Enjoy a specially curated two-course menu for £21.95 per person at Giggling Squid in Montpellier.

Choose from a selection of starters and mains, including salt and pepper squid, Khwae river curry and chubby cheek pork. Booking is essential.

The Cosy Club set menu

Savour a special two-course main and pudding menu at The Brewery Quarter hotspot for £16.50.  

Mains include roast feta and tomato tart for veggies and roast harissa cauliflower tahini and cauliflower purée, pomegranate molasses and crispy chickpeas for vegans. 

Fans of a sweet treat can choose from chocolate brownie, lemon posset shortbread and vegan baked vanilla cheesecake with raspberries for pud. And there's no need to book, you can just turn up.

Films and music at The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum

On Saturday 1 October 2022, kids can choose from watching Ratatouille at 10am and Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory at 3pm. On Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2 October 2022, there'll also be free live music from 1pm to 3pm with acoustic guitar musician Felicity Mitchell and Cheltenham harpist Mark Harmer. It's all free and there's no need to book, just drop in. 

Wilson Kitchen Arts Café will run a special food and drink offer every day, from a glass of house wine for £4 on Friday to a free meal for children with a paying adult on Saturday.

Cookie decorating at The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum

Join the team for biscuit decorating in the Wilson Kitchen Arts Café throughout Cheltenham Food and Drink Week from 10am to 6pm on Monday to Saturday or from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Collect your free biscuit tile with any purchase in the café. Icing pens will be set up in café booths for you to decorate your biscuit during your visit. 

Memsahib's Lounge Afternoon Tea

Enjoy an afternoon tea for two with a difference. Taking inspiration from the British Raj era and the Anglo-Indian women known as Memsahibs, who brought together the best of British and Indian cuisine - you'll be transported into another world.

Take a seat in the atmospheric lounge, to enjoy sweet and savoury treats from samosas to sorbet, washed down with seasonal tea. The afternoon tea for two runs from Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October 2022 and costs £50.
