Dame Judi Dench is coming to Cheltenham

Film fans have the rare opportunity to see Dame Judi Dench in Gloucestershire, as she comes to Pittville Pump Room for Cheltenham International Film Festival.

Whether you know her as M from James Bond, Queen Elizabeth I from Shakespeare in Love, Mrs Fairfax from Jane Eyre or the titular character in Philomena, Dame Judi Dench is a national treasure – and she’s coming to Cheltenham this May 2022.

As part of Cheltenham International Film Festival, she will be at Pittville Pump Room on Thursday 26 May 2022 for An Afternoon with Dame Judi.

The multi-award-winning actress will be in conversation with Jonathan Dean from Sunday Times Culture in front of a live audience, celebrating her illustrious career as one of Britain’s best actresses.

There will also be screenings of her Oscar-winning performance in Shakespeare in Love on Saturday 28, her Oscar-nominated performance in Notes on a Scandal on Sunday 29 and the BAFTA-winning Philomena on Monday 30 May 2022.

Cheltenham International Film Festival takes place from Monday 23 May to Friday 3 June 2022, with screenings taking place at venues including Cheltenham Playhouse, Parabola Arts Centre and TIVOLI Cinema.

Tickets for An Afternoon with Dame Judi at Pittville Pump Room cost £50 each and are available to book online at cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk.
