The University of Gloucestershire has been working with Zurich Insurance Group to develop new degree apprenticeships in operations and IT, and applications are now open.

Starting in September 2022, the higher-level apprenticeships will combine workplace learning with an honours degree.
Learners will be able to work in several departments at Zurich, including development operations, data, innovation, continuous improvement, automation and service management.

Dr Polly Pick, the university’s director of business engagement and partnerships, said: ‘These apprenticeships provide a fantastic mix of corporate experience, along with high-level academic study. As such, they really do offer learners the best of both worlds.’

Jude Pilcher, people development consultant at Zurich Insurance, said: ‘Through this new partnership with University of Gloucestershire, we are able to address particular skills needs around data analysis, network engineering and software engineering.

‘We are hoping to hear from a range of applicants, including both school leavers and established professionals who may be looking to take their career to a new level.’

Alongside their work, learners will complete a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions at the University of Gloucestershire.

Apprentices can expect to earn in excess of £18,000 a year while training and the course will take 36 months to complete.
