With a half marathon or 10k to take on in aid of Sue Ryder, Run Cheltenham is suitable for experienced runners and those taking on their first race.

Runners in Gloucestershire are getting set for Cheltenham's biggest annual running event, with charity Sue Ryder calling for people of all abilities to sign up.

Offering the chance to take on a half marathon or 10k through the Regency town centre, Run Cheltenham is back this September 2026 – with Sue Ryder, which runs Cheltenham's Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, returning as the event's charity partner for the half marathon and 10k.

And the charity is urging runners to sign up for the event for a discounted entry fee, in exchange for raising vital funds for its palliative, end-of-life care, and bereavement support through sponsorship.

Sue Ryder runners will also have access to fundraising resources and dedicated support on race day – including refreshments and a massage when you finish and a 'fantastic' cheer point en route to give you that extra boost!

Each year, hundreds of people choose to run in the event for Sue Ryder, bringing a strong sense of camaraderie on race day as runners help the charity continue its work supporting local families.

Alysia Cameron-Price, regional fundraising team manager at Sue Ryder, said: 'Run Cheltenham is always a highlight of our year. It brings together people from across the county who want to challenge themselves while supporting Sue Ryder, and we’re proud to be there for our runners every step of the way.

'From fundraising guidance and regular event updates, we make sure everyone feels part of the team.

'On race day, our cheer point and post‑race area are ready to welcome runners as they cross the finish line.

'Every person who chooses to run for Sue Ryder helps us continue to be there for families when it matters most, because no one should face death or grief alone.'

Anyone running in aid of the charity is asked to raise a minimum of £275 for the half marathon or £175 for the 10k – with those who raise £100 or more getting a Sue Ryder vest for the race.

Runners have until Thursday 20 August 2026 to sign up with Sue Ryder, costing £25 for the half marathon and £20 for the 10k.
