Cheltenham marketing agency wins big at regional enterprise awards

Cheltenham's boutique digital content marketing agency, Content Chef, has won an award at the SME News’ seventh annual Southern Enterprise Awards – being named Best Emerging Digital Marketing Agency 2023 in the south west.

Content Chef has won the title of Best Emerging Digital Marketing Agency 2023 in the south west.

Cheltenham's Content Chef celebrated its triumph alongside a selection of marketing businesses from the south west in October 2023 – winning the 'Best Emerging Digital Marketing Agency' award at the 2023 SME News' Southern Enterprise Awards.

These awards acknowledge and celebrate the most deserving and best performing small and medium enterprises that are dedicated to serving their clients and customers across the UK.

Over the past two years, Content Chef has helped various local and global businesses, brands and agencies build an online presence and make 'more dough' through authentic storytelling — with its services ranging from copywriting, SEO optimisation, blog writing and social media management, to email marketing, paid social ads, PPC (pay-per-click), website design and content marketing strategising.

The Content Chef brand started in 2017 as a solo freelancing adventure — but as things continued to grow through the pandemic, founder and director, Daryl Charman, decided to let the stabilisers off and transition into a limited company in April 2021.

Being Cheltenham-based itself, the company has a real commitment to working with the Gloucestershire community and local businesses. The team has worked with Sef Steakhouse — one of the newest restaurants to join Cheltenham's Quadrangle — since day one, helping it to grow into a thriving and popular business.

Alongside this, Content Chef has recently started working with the well-loved Filipino restaurant Pyesta, helping its messages to resonate with its target audience and get them taking action, as well as several other exciting start-ups. 

Charman said: 'Our honest and fun friendly approach has been the catalyst to our success. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our agency continues to grow.'

Daryl admitted that he's worked in some toxic environments before launching Content Chef, where growth took precedence over the people, but he’s not under the illusion that work is everything. 

'Despite the growth, we still proudly stick to the same recipe that got us from one man and his dog to a team of expert content marketers.

'We get work done, but we always find time to have fun too. Everyone has a voice and is involved in the evolution of this agency. In our eyes, we’re on this journey together.'

Since 2018, the Southern Enterprise Awards have been highlighting the best businesses in the region from accountancy firms to WealthTech start-ups and everything in-between.
