Cheltenham Choral Society celebrates 80th anniversary

Cheltenham Choral Society is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2018, with a series of special concerts scheduled to mark the occasion.

Founded in 1938 by Morgan Islwyn Jones, Cheltenham Choral Society celebrates its milestone 80th anniversary in 2018, and will host a series of special concerts throughout the year.

The amateur mixed-ability choir, which boasts an excellent reputation for its performances, will deliver an anticipated 80th Anniversary Gala Concert at Pittville Pump Room on Saturday 28 April 2018 as part of its celebratory programme.

Set to be am enchanting evening within Cheltenham’s iconic venue, the concert will welcome society president, Dame Felicity Lott, who will perform a recital for the occasion.

Other events include a Holst Birthday Concert on Saturday 29 September 2018, and a rendition of Handel’s ‘Messiah’ at St Matthew’s Church on Saturday 24 November 2018.
