Gloucester Guildhall Cinema is reopening on Thursday 1 October 2020 for the first time since lockdown began.

The cinema and café has been refurbished during its temporary closure and has introduced new safety measures including limited socially distanced seating, online bookings and a new one way system.

Film goers can see screenings of Emma, Misbehaviour and Military Wives and a special black and white edition of Boon Jong Ho’s Oscar winning Parasite during October.

There will also be event cinema screenings of Alfie Boe’s sold-out UK tour and Andre Rieu’s Magical Maastricht concert series.

Halloween and Black History Month screenings are also planned, with films to be announced soon.

Film Programmer, Simon Nicholls, said: ‘I’m delighted to see us re-opening the Guildhall Cinema. As the cinema industry as a whole adjusts, I’m hoping that the momentum can continue as more films become available for screening.

‘We will continue to strive to bring the best cinema to Gloucester remembering, of course, that films always look better on the big screen!’
