Kaleb Cooper is releasing his first ever single

Gloucestershire's famous farmer, Kaleb Cooper, isn't just a star of the stage and screen — now he's venturing into the music business, too, releasing his debut single this January 2024.

Kaleb Cooper has worked on farms since he was a schoolboy; he's babysat Jeremy Clarkson on the hit series Clarkson's Farm; he's launched his own agriculture bursary for budding farmers; and now he's releasing his very first single, with 'I Can't Stand Sheep' dropping this January 2024.

'I Can't Stand Sheep' is Kaleb's first foray into music, though the song itself is described as more of a 'country rap' that's set to the iconic English folk song 'The Floral Dance'.

The tongue-in-cheek tune focuses on Kaleb's well-documented dislike for sheep, but also carries a poignant message about the struggles farmers are facing as the profession becomes more and more pressurised.

Proceeds from the single are being donated to RABI, which provides emotional, practical and financial support to the farming community across England, Wales and Northern Ireland — and it's 24/7 helpline number is featured within the lyrics.

Kaleb said: 'Never did I think I’d be saying these words that I’m releasing a record! When you listen to it, you’ll realise why I didn’t ever think it was possible — my singing voice isn’t a match for my farming skills by any stretch. I had a lot of fun recording it and I hope that people like it — but there is also a serious side to it.

'As a community, farmers are only too aware of how pressurised the industry has become — the farming way of life can feel lonely at times.

'I wanted to make sure that if people are struggling they have somewhere to reach out to. The RABI offers incredible support to the farming community in a range of different ways and this felt like the perfect solution to get that message out — make the helpline number part of the lyrics!

'All profits will go towards helping fund the valuable work they do — so please download the single now and help contribute!'

'I Can't Stand Sheep' is available across all major streaming platforms from Thursday 18 January 2024, to tie in with the launch of Kaleb's first theatre tour which kicks off at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre on Thursday 25 January 2024 — with SoGlos giving readers a chance to win tickets to the sold out opening night of The World According to Kaleb

Kaleb will be performing the single live as part of the show as well as screening an exclusive preview of the music video.

RABI's helpline is available 24/7 on 0800 1884444.
