Dean Farm Trust are hosting the Virtual Doggy Days dog show from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 May 2020, where dog owners can enter their pets into 11 fun categories from the safety of their homes.

Categories to enter include agility, best rescue, waggiest tail and more. Owners need to take a photo or 30 second video of their dog and post it to the Virtual Doggy Days Facebook page when their chosen category is open.

There’ll be a special bonus award to the audience’s favourite pup, announced on Sunday 10 May at 6pm.

The trust’s own rescue dogs Queenie and Pokie will be taking part. The virtual event also features lots of special guest judges, including TV star James Moore who plays Ryan Stocks in Emmerdale.

Sanctuary founder Mary Frankland said: ‘We’d planned to hold a special dog-friendly weekend at the sanctuary, but we’ve sadly had to cancel and reschedule our events due to the Coronavirus.

‘Rather than cancel the event, we thought it would be a fun way for people to get together, raise some funds for our residents and celebrate our four-legged friends – all from the safety of our homes.’

All categories are free to enter, but donations are gratefully received to help the charity run its animal sanctuary in Chepstow.
