Cheltenham noodle bar, 288 Bar and Wok, has won an award for the Best Cheap Eats in the national OFM awards.

Fans of 288 Bar & Wok in Cheltenham have voted for the popular independent eatery to become the Best Cheap Eats winner in the 2019 Observer Food Monthly Awards (OFM Awards).

Offering a relaxed Hong Kong-style dining experience in the heart of Cheltenham since 2005, the buzzing Cheltenham eatery has maintained its reputation for delicious food served quickly.

Pictured on Instagram falling to sleep with his trophy, Pak-Wai Hung, the owner of 288 Bar and Wok, said his customers are to thank for their success: ‘Whilst it may sound like a cliché, I’d like to thank our loyal customers. The award was an OFM reader’s choice award and thus for our customers to take the effort to vote for us is amazing.

‘They eat our food week in and week out and thus they are our best critics. I would also like to thank my wife Jody, who encouraged me to enter the awards. We’re both still pinching ourselves.’

In addition to this well-deserved OFM Award, 288 Bar and Wok also was highly commended in the Best Takeaway category during the first ever SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards in 2018.
