Eagerly anticipated by Gloucester Rugby fans, the fixtures list for the Gallagher Premiership 2022/23 has been announced — alongside the team's latest campaign, 'In the Blood'.
Returning to action in Gloucestershire on Sunday 11 September 2022, Gloucester Rugby will be taking on the Wasps in the first round of the new season.
Following this, the Cherry and Whites will welcome Worcester Warriors to Kingsholm, followed by the Bristol Bears in two big local rival fixtures to kick start the new campaign.
Other notable games coming up include a home fixture against Sale Sharks, an away game with Harlequins, as well as Northampton visiting Gloucestershire over the festive period.
The Cherry and Whites narrowly missed out on a spot in the play-offs last year, and are said to be 'quietly confident' going into the upcoming season, having formed a passionate and committed group under the stewardship of head coach George Skivington.
Skivington joined the Cherry and Whites back in June 2020 and extended his commitment with a new contract in May this year. The former lock said: 'It really does get in your blood here. This is a really special rugby club and people are so passionate about it. You go into the city and the badge is everywhere; it’s really powerful.'
Gloucester Rugby launched the new season with an open training session and new shirt unveil at Kingsholm earlier in August 2022. The event featured a packed out Fan Zone, including the new BiGDUG Chill Out Zone, community activities and live music, in between watching the squad get put through their paces.
Ed Slaters' diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease, and retirement from professional
rugby, Gloucester Rugby supporters can contribute to the fundraising
efforts when buying a 2022/23 shirt with 'SLATER 4' on the back.
The shirt can be ordered and printed online and will be available from the Gloucester Quays shop.
