A new community play area with innovative, all weather technology is boosting wellbeing in Hardwicke thanks to Greenfields landscapers.
Hardwicke Parish Council, which commissioned the project, invested £65,000 in the the multi use games area, designed to give villagers of all ages a place to come together and embrace a healthy lifestyle by exercising outdoors.
The innovative surface Greenfields installed is a blend of rubber granules and aggregate bonded together. This forms a softer surface to play on, but is firm enough to give good stability underfoot — as well as excellent ball bounce.
The multi use games area is open to the public 24/7 and offers an all weather pitch for football and basketball. It is already proving hugely popular with residents.
Greenfields, which has installed hundreds of play areas across Gloucestershire, typically creates two to three new spaces a year and is especially proud of this latest project.
Owner, Will Graulich, said: 'The parish council wanted a multi use games area situated out the back of the village hall as a community space to add to the local facilities.
'It was winter when we started preparing the area, so we had to battle the elements and it took a while but if conditions were kinder it would take about a month for us to deliver a project like this.
'After all of the hard work we're delighted with how it's come together. It truly is a great space that offers the local community a facility to socialise and exercise all year round.
'The client is over the moon with the project. This is the first full installation like this that we have completed and we are very keen to be involved with other great community projects.'
